Student Opportunities
We don’t hire interns to make coffee or copies. Our internship programs are designed as the first step in potentially joining our team in a full-time role. Interns do meaningful work that positively impacts our business and their future. We provide competitive pay, fully furnished housing for non-local students, and social activities in the summer.
We have multiple undergraduate internship programs, and a variety of general internship opportunities that come available on a needs-based basis. The Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP) is a 12-week actuarial internship, giving interns exposure to traditional and non-traditional actuarial work throughout Humana’s 30+ actuarial departments.

The IT Internship Program is a 12-week program that provides students with firsthand knowledge and experience in information technology operations in the fast-paced, ever-growing healthcare industry.

Finance & Accounting Internship
The Finance & Accounting Intern Program currently includes 34 rotations in various corporate finance and accounting departments. Twice a year, interns rotate to a new department. Only open to Louisville students.

The Retail Internship program is a 12-week program where participants will possess strong communication skills, the ability to think strategically, and leadership potential. The Retail Intern will perform various activities such as administrative, operational, or customer support assignments across the Retail business segment.

While I worked primarily with the CMS Audit & Compliance IT team, I also worked with other teams. When the Information Management and Analytics area released its unique functioning and formatted SharePoint site, I had the opportunity to spearhead the entire project.

- Healthcare Leadership Rotational Program: An initiative designed to develop leaders with an enterprise mindset through a structured 3-year rotational program with an emphasis on strategy, analytics, finance, and operational experiences.
- Full Time Positions: opportunities vary based on business need but will generally fall into the following business areas- Strategy, Operations, Data & Analytics, Home Business, Primary Care and Clinical.
